WSU shows off at Open House

By Lori Miller

Wichita State University will showcase some of the creative and fun aspects of the university at Open House 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, April 10. Levitt Arena will come alive with games, contests, music, clowns and food.

This is the fourth year WSU has thrown open its doors for a fun-filled family day of events. In conjunction with Open House, the Student Activities Council will sponsor a carnival and the Office of Admissions is hosting an information day for high school students.

Hundreds of games, contests and displays are planned and food will be available to purchase. Listings and maps for the events will be available in Levitt Arena.

There will be plenty of fun activities for everyone and almost everything is free. You can eat ice cream frozen instantly with liquid nitrogen, look at germs under a microscope, have your blood pressure checked, play on life-sized carnival games, get your caricature drawn or take a ride in a motion simulator.

A stage on the floor of Levitt Arena will feature music by Hillside Blues and the Steel Pan Orchestra and a demonstration of international dances by WSU students.
