Opera, musical theater students present Broadway tunes

The first graduates of Wichita State’s University’s opera and musical theater program will present "The Best of Broadway" at 7:30 p.m. Thursday-Friday, April 25-26, in Miller Concert Hall.

The bachelor of fine arts degree in WSU’s musical theater program is now four years old, and we’re celebrating, says director Marie Allyn King.

"Anyone who caught our fall production of ‘A Chorus Line’ is aware of our students’ energy, and the wealth of talent in our program," King says.

The "Best of Broadway" features graduating seniors in numbers from their favorite classical and contemporary Broadway shows, including "Kiss Me Kate," "Singin’ in the Rain," "Guys and Dolls," "42nd Street" and New York’s latest hit, "The Producers."
