Summer theater is back at Wichita State Summer theater is back at Wichita State University with plenty of music, comedy and romance. “Radio Gals,” directed by Linda Starkey, will run June 3-6 and June 10-13. Come join Hazel Hunt and the “Hazelnuts” from Cedar Ridge, Ark., as they sing and romp their way into your hearts. Fun for the whole family, this charming 1920s musical was written by the famous Dodge City writing team that brought you “Pump Boys” and “Dinettes.” On June 3, there will be an ice cream social and a tribute to Richard Welsbacher, professor emeritus of theater. “The Voice of the Prairie,” by John Olive and directed by Joyce Cavarozzi, will run June 17-20 and June 24-27. This is a poignant tale of love lost and found against the tapestry of the old radio stories in the “Heart of America.” “Perfect Wedding” will run July 1-3 (no July Fourth performance) and July 8-11. This Kansas premiere of the new raucous British farce follows in the great tradition of “Lend Me a Tenor” and “Noises Off.” Performances are 7:30 p.m. Thursdays-Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays. Season tickets for faculty and staff are $16. Single tickets are $7. Call ext. 3233 for reservations.
