KMUW offers road trip

KMUW FM 89, the public radio station at WSU, is offering a road trip to New York City and St. Paul, Minn., April 25-29, that will be filled with backstage visits and live audience taping.

Highlights of the trip to New York include a live taping of author E.L. Doctorow presenting the American best short stories of 2000 for "Selected Shorts;" backstage tours of the Metropolitan Opera House, New York State Theatre and Avery Fisher Hall; and tickets to the Broadway debut of "The Producers," based on Mel Brooks’ 1968 cult film of the same name. WSU alum Ray Wills is in the musical’s cast.

When the tour moves on to the Fitzgerald Theater in St. Paul, participants will be part of the live audience taping of "A Prairie Home Companion."

The $3,280 per person package includes airfare, four hotel nights, all meals, tips and gratuities. A portion of the cost is a tax-deductible contribution to KMUW.

There are a limited number of spots available so anyone interested should sign up soon. Call 978-6789. More information on the trip can be found at http://www.kmuw.org.
