If
the weather turns nasty
Recent
good weather may mask the fact its wintertime, but just in
case the weather turns nasty, heres what would happen at WSU.
If
the workday or classes are canceled or delayed, local TV and radio
stations will be notified by 5 a.m. to carry the announcement. The
class and work status message, option 2, on WSUs Activity
Line, 978-6633, will be updated to reflect the current status. The
announcement also will be posted prominently on WSUs Web site,
www.wichita.edu. If the option to have evening classes or shifts
is left open, a decision will be made and announced by 2 p.m. that
day.
If
bad weather develops during the day, WSU officials may declare a
weather emergency and dismiss classes and workers early. Employees
would be contacted through broadcast voice-mail and e-mail messages.
Again the media would be notified and the Activity Line and Web
site would carry the status information.
If
you question the safety of traveling to work or classes if neither
has been canceled or delayed, contact your supervisor or professor
to notify them of your absence.
WSUs
inclement weather policy can be found at http://webs.wichita.edu/inaudit/ch19_02.htm.
