Music events commemorate America

An upcoming concert and a music festival at WSU will have patriotic themes, in light of the tragic events Sept. 11.

WSU’s Symphonic Wind Ensemble and Concert Band will present "Remembrance and Reflection: A Tribute to America" at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, in Miller Concert Hall.

As part of the program, which is dedicated to the victims of the attacks, the ensemble will perform "America the Beautiful."

"America the Beautiful" is also the theme of the School of Music’s 25th annual American Music Festival concerts Oct. 30 and Nov. 1 in Wiedemann Recital Hall.

The A Cappella Choir and Chamber Chorale will perform "America My House," a setting of "America the Beautiful" Oct. 30. The faculty wind ensemble will perform "America the Beautiful" during the Nov. 1 concert. Both concerts start at 7:30 p.m.
