Send
season greetings through scholarship fund
WSU
employees can send holiday greetings and support a student through
the Holiday Card Scholarship Fund.
It
may not be as sentimental as a Hallmark card, but your donation
will result in a campus-wide greeting that will be printed in Inside
WSU. The donations provide student scholarships; more than $3,000
was awarded this year through this fund.
The
Holiday Card Scholarship Fund is one of WSU’s longstanding
traditions. For more than 25 years, faculty and staff have contributed
to the endowed fund.
The
late Nicholas Pronko, professor emeritus of psychology, thought
that by having just one mass holiday greeting, faculty and staff
could donate the money normally spent on cards and postage to help
students.
The
WSU Foundation has mailed a letter asking for support. Names of
donors will be printed in the Dec. 6 issue of Inside WSU. Those
who have not given by the Nov. 25 deadline will be noted in the
Jan. 24 issue of Inside WSU.
