A magical ballet

The Metropolitan Ballet of Wichita will present "Merlin’s Song," an original, full-length ballet written by William Woods, WSU professor of English, at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 7, and 2 p.m. Sunday, April 8, as part of WSU’s Dance Series in Miller Concert Hall.

This spell-binding tale of Merlin and Morgana la Fey, sorcerer and sorceress, is portrayed through the magical combination of dance, drama, music and art. The pair shapes the rise and fall of King Arthur’s Camelot as seasons come and go.

The ballet is choreographed by MBW’s artistic director Jill Landrith. Sean Duus of the Kansas City Ballet is the featured guest artist. "Merlin’s Song" will be performed to Mahler’s 1st Symphony.
