Bank
on this talk
A WSU business
graduate who started her banking career in 1969 to pay for college
and now is an executive with a nationwide banking operation will
talk about her career and the changing industry during a free talk
open to the public March 8.
Marilyn Pauly,
president of Bank of America Kansas, will talk about "Bankings
Transition: Now You See Us
Now You Dont," as part
of the W. Frank Barton School of Business Distinguished Alumnus
in Residence lecture series. Her presentation will begin at 10:30
a.m. in 126 Clinton Hall.
Later that day
she will be the featured speaker at an invitation-only luncheon
for Wichita business and community leaders at the Hyatt Regency.
As a 19-year-old
college student, Pauly applied for a job in 1969 with what was then
Fourth National Bank based on the banks ad in the yellow pages
it was the biggest. In July 1998, she was named president
of Bank of America Kansas, as the company is now known. She worked
in various positions in operations, commercial banking and trust
services division.
Pauly has a
long history of professional, civic and community activities, including
serving on boards with Wichitas Exploration Place, the Kansas
4-H Foundation, the YMCA, United Way of the Plains and the WSU Endowment
Association.
Bank of America
Kansas is part of a coast-to-coast nationwide operation with nearly
32 million checking and saving accounts. Statistically, one of every
three U.S. households banks with the nationwide bank; online banking
is among its most demanded services.
The Barton Schools
Distinguished Alumnus in Residence series was established in September
1997.
