‘Richard III’ comes to WSU stage

WSU’s Mainstage Theatre Series will present Shakespeare’s good-against-evil classic "Richard III" at 7:30 p.m. May 4-6 and 2 p.m. May 7 in Wilner Auditorium.

In an unrestrained effort to achieve the crown, King Edward IV’s youngest brother Richard imprisons and murders his family members, seduces and marries an innocent woman, and faces the curses of his fellow royalty.

Treachery prevails as Richard becomes king, then betrays his partner. His triumph is short-lived.

In the final battle of Bosworth Field, Richard will face archenemy Richmond, a righteous and God-fearing competitor for the crown, putting an end to the War of the Roses.

Joyce Cavarozzi is the director, Bradford Reissig is set designer, Dan Williams is light designer, Betty Monroe is costume designer and Derek Olson is sound designer.

Tickets are $10 with discounts available. Call 978-3233 for reservations.
