Service awards moved to fall

By Carmen Hytche

The service recognition ceremonies for WSU employees have been moved to the fall. There will not be any service recognition ceremonies in April as there have been in the past.

June 30, the end of the fiscal year, has been established as the official deadline for service recognition. Service is recognized in five-year increments. All employees from April 2000 to June 30 will be recognized for service this fall.

In the past there has not been a formal deadline. Having a consistent cutoff date will help ensure that all are recognized at the appropriate time.

Employees who reach anniversary dates between July 1 to June 30, 2002, will be recognized in fall 2002.

Individuals with five years of service to the state will receive a certificate of appreciation.

Individuals with 10, 15, 20 and 25 years of service to the state will be recognized in a ceremony at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4.

Benders of Twigs, individuals with 25 years of service to WSU, will have a recognition ceremony at 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6.

Retirees and individuals with 30 and 35 years of service will have a recognition dinner Thursday, Aug. 30.

If you have questions about length of service please contact Sue Cook, 978-6150, or Nancy Thompson, 978-6162. If you plan to retire by June 30, please contact Connie Landreth, 978-6121.
