Men in tights make humorous pointe

Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo, an all-male ballet company, will provide a buoyant and hilarious evening for dance aficionados and complete novices 8 p.m. Saturday, April 21, at Century II Concert Hall.

In WSU’s last Connoisseur Series event this season, the company will parody classical works from "Swan Lake" to "Giselle" to combine a loving knowledge of dance with a wicked comedic sensibility.

"Their program of grand ballet is as much food for the mind as it is for the eye and the funny bone," said The New York Times.

Since its inception in 1974, this ensemble has established itself as a major dance phenomenon.

Tours take the Trocks, as they are known, to scores of cities across the United States, Europe, South America and Japan. The Trocks have been seen in programs including a Shirley MacLaine special and with Miss Piggy and Kermit in "Muppet Babies." In Europe they have appeared on numerous popular guest shows and

in their own specials.
