President Beggs to talk to senate April 26
All faculty are encouraged to attend the April 26 Faculty Senate meeting at 3:30 p.m. in 208 Hubbard Hall to hear President Beggs. He will talk about faculty salary enhancement monies and how he plans to allocate them. He’ll also talk about gender equity.

Last chance for regalia orders
While hood colors for rental regalia cannot be guaranteed, the University Bookstore will accept orders until Saturday, May 1, for the May 14 commencement ceremony. To place an order, call Dawn Haywood-Haas, ext. 7018, or dhaywoodhaas_@hotmail.com.

Ross accepts position with The Edison Project
Wichita State University's interim vice president for student affairs, Tony Ross, announced that he would resign effective June 1 to accept a position with The Edison Project as vice president of development. The Edison Project is the country's leading private manager of public schools.

Senate OKs intellectual property policy for WSU

During its April 12 meeting, Faculty Senate approved WSU’s intellectual property policy, which is based heavily on the Board of Regents policy. The policy applies to the entire university community, including students. The policy has been forwarded to President Beggs for his approval. Following his endorsement, it is to be included in the faculty, staff and student handbooks.

WSU’s Town to play in organ series season’s finale
Robert Town, associate professor, will perform the final recital of the Rie Bloomfield Organ Series this season at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 25, in Wiedemann Recital Hall. There will be no admission charge.

Ceremony recognizes student achievements
Students who have made various contributions to WSU will be recognized during the Student Awards and Recognition Day ceremony at the Hughes Metropolitan Complex. The event, hosted by the Division of Student Affairs, will begin at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, April 25. A reception will follow.

WSU journal sponsors researcher-in-residence series
A free lecture and workshop to help children better understand their cultural journeys will be given by researcher Ming Fang He. The lecture will be at Wichita State University, 3:30 p.m. Friday, April 30, in room 156a Corbin Education Center. The workshop will be 2-3:45 p.m. Saturday, May 1, at Northwest High School.
