Looking on is Ed Miller, vice president, corporate services with Willis Corroon Corp. of Kansas. Miller is co-chair of the CEDBR’s Wichita Area Outlook Team, comprising 31 business and community leaders who meet quarterly to gauge the area’s economic health. Sherrer told the group that Kansas is looking to attract six industries: administrative centers; value-added companies, such as cheese processors near dairy operations already in Kansas; aircraft parts and avionics; call service centers; plastic companies; and wholesale distribution companies. He also noted tourism inquires are up more than 10 percent from a year ago. |
