Obituary

Sam Akao, 45, WSU College of Education adviser, died Nov. 8 from asthma complications. Dr. Akao had joined the university in 1994 as associate dean of University College. When the college was reorganized in 1998, he joined the College of Education as an adviser in its student services section.

He is survived by wife Janice and three young children, Damien, David and Karen. A memorial has been established with the American Lung Association, 4300 SW Drury, Topeka, KS 66604.
