New sculpture is added
To kick off its 25th anniversary, the Edwin A. Ulrich Museum of Art is adding to one of its more well known and visible collections. The latest addition to the Martin H. Bush Outdoor Sculpture Collection, Scott Burton’s "Münster Benches of 1986," will be installed and dedicated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17, on the south lawn of the Corbin Education Center. The public is invited to attend. Named for the town of Münster, Germany, the two arc-shaped benches, black and white in color, form a semi-circle when placed together. Conceptually, the shape and arrangement of the benches creates an invisible circle, according to Mark White, Ulrich Museum curator.
