Speaking for the president By Tisha Cannizzo
As a member of President Bill Clinton’s inner circle, Dee Dee Myers viewed the making of history firsthand. She served as White House press secretary for President Clinton from 1993-94 and was the first woman and youngest person ever to hold that job. As part of the Forum Board Lecture Series, Myers will speak at the Hughes Metropolitan Complex at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 14. The lecture is free and open to the public. Before joining the Clinton campaign in 1991, she worked for a variety of political figures including Dianne Feinstein, Walter Mondale and Michael Dukakis. In 1995, Myers was selected to fill the newly created position of political editor for "Vanity Fair" because, according to Editor-in-Chief Graydon Carter, "she is that rare political hand: adored by Democrats and respected by Republicans."
Reservations for groups of 20 or more should be made by calling ext. 3045 or e-mailing cannizzo@twsuvm.uc.twsu.edu.
