Preschool slots available

The Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic can accept two more typically developing children, ages 2 1/2 to 5 years, in its interdisciplinary preschool program. The preschool, which meets 9-11 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, got under way this week. The weekly charge is $30. Call Debbie Froelich, ext. 3331.

It’s in the mail

An error in the new mailing process of Inside WSU resulted in some faculty and staff receiving the publication at home. This and future issues should come to your campus box. If you continue receiving Inside WSU at home or receive copies at both work at home, please contact Amy Geiszler-Jones, ext. 3409 or amy.geiszler-jones@wichita.edu.

Seeking award winners

The Alumni Association is taking nominations for its awards given to alumni, faculty and staff or friends of the university until Monday, Sept. 27. One award honors current or retired non-faculty or non-administrator employees, while another award recognizes a past or current faculty member or administrator. For more information, call Nikki Hansson, ext. 3834.

Put on the pink ribbon

The WSU community is participating in Lee National Denim Day for Breast Cancer Awareness Oct. 8. Each person donating at least $5 will get a pink ribbon pin to wear with their jeans Oct. 8. Send tax-deductible donations to Ellen Horn, box 85. A ribbon and receipt will be sent to you. Make checks payable to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. The national goal is to raise $6 million for research; the WSU goal is $1,500. Last year, the WSU community raised $1,170.

Correction

Mary Herrin was inadvertently left off the list of current faculty/staff who are members of the Society of 1895 in the Sept. 9 issue of Inside WSU. The admission price for children 12 and younger to the Alumni Association’s fall fling at Eberly Farm Oct. 8 is $6. The information was incorrect in the Sept. 9 issue of Inside WSU. We regret any inconvenience these errors may have caused.

Inside WSU is published by the Office of University Communications for Wichita State University faculty, staff and friends on Thursdays during the fall and spring semesters. Items to be considered for publication should be sent to campus box 62 or amy.geiszler-jones@wichita.edu 10 days before publication.
