If you've done well in your previous classroom experience and demonstrate teaching, research and leadership abilities, you may qualify for assistantships, fellowships and other financial awards that will help defray the cost of your graduate studies. WSU works hard to keep tuition costs low for post-baccalaureate study.
Most graduate programs offer assistantships for graduate students. A graduate teaching assistantship can earn tuition waivers up to 100 percent.
The actual dollar amount of an assistantship varies according to the length of the appointment, the number of hours worked per week, and the funding base within each program area.
Fellowships are available to doctoral candidates and some master's candidates. Most academic units also offer other financial opportunities, such as scholarships, to help finance your advanced degree.
General awards managed by the Graduate School are provided through the WSU Student Government Association which provides funds for Educational Opportunity and McNair Scholar grants, and the WSU Foundation for the management of endowed fellowships.
