Formal admission as a graduate student remains valid only if students enroll and complete at least one class as a graduate student within one calendar year of the admission semester. Upon completion of this requirement, students may retain their graduate status indefinitely.
Even students who successfully complete their graduate degrees are continued as graduate students in a non-degree option.
Unless you choose to transfer to the WSU Undergraduate Division to pursue a second bachelor's degree, or become academically dismissed, your graduate status remains valid. In fact, you can continue to take any level of course for which you have completed the required prerequisite, including undergraduate courses, while retaining your graduate status. A simple Student Reactivation Form is all that's needed for admitted graduate students returning after two or more years' absence from the University.
Returning graduate students seeking admission into a degree program must apply and meet admission requirements of the respective program.
Once a graduate student, always a graduate student!
