Parent Information

For incoming U.S. freshmen
Congratulations, it's a Shocker!

As you've been helping your child look for a suitable university, you've probably noticed: Your child and you aren't necessarily looking at the same features. Right? So this is our opportunity to tell you about some of the benefits that your incoming freshman son or daughter might overlook. The boring stuff. And, probably, the kind of stuff that can keep a parent awake all night worrying.

We have doctors, nurses and insurance specialists, and our Student Health clinic is open 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday.

Student Success
The success of every student is a campus-wide goal at Wichita State. The Student Success Center offers services to help students learn about the university, develop good study habits and find tutoring and study groups related to their degree.

Sometimes we all need someone to talk to and to help sort out the tough stuff. WSU students have access to professional counselors to help them address their personal concerns.

WSU has a tremendous safety record. Our on-campus police force is available (and on patrol) 24 hours a day.
