I am specifically exploring the subcultures that are significant in the experience I have had growing up in South Central Kansas. These being the educational institution, Kansas culture, Mexican culture and gang culture. In the exploration, I place these over subcultures together and ask the relationship between them. Is one subculture more dominant than another? Which is being submissive? Is there an uneasy cohesion? Do the cultures exist as only polar opposites?
