DESCRIPTION:Location: Duerksen Fine Arts Center, Miller Concert Hall\n\nThe WSU Concert Band, under the direction of Dr. Victor Markovich, will perform at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29 in Miller Concert Hall. Selections will include "Undertow" by John Mackey, "Southern Hymn" by Samuel Hazo, and "Ragged Rozey March" by Karl King. Trent Warbis will be conducting "A Longford Legend: A Collection of Irish Street Ballads" by Robert Sheldon, and Jamie Shepherd will conduct "Fortress Variations" by Tim Waters.\n\nThe WSU Jazz Combo, under the direction of Craig Owens, will be featured with the Concert Band presenting a guitar trio with Kendall Wohaska, guitar; Seth Carrithers, bass; and Scott Taylor, drums. They will be presenting their renditions of jazz standards along with some original compositions. Having explored avant-garde sounds in the past, they now seem interested in infusing their music with the sound of the blues, which should please the Wichita audience.\n\nTickets for this event are $7 with discounts available and they go on sale Nov. 8, 2012. For more information and tickets please call the WSU Fine Arts Box Office at (316) 978-3233.\n\nBuy tickets online: http://www.wichita.edu/j/?1899\n\nOpen to the Public\nSponsored By: The WSU School of Music\n$
