DESCRIPTION:Location: Lake Afton Public Observatory\n\nWhen the moon is available in the evening sky during the months of May, June, July and August, the Lake Afton Public Observatory features "Moons, Rings and Other Things." This is a great opportunity to come out to the Observatory and use the 16-inch diameter telescope to get a close look at our nearest celestial neighbor, the moon, with its mountains and craters. Also take a closer look at Saturn with its beautiful ring system and many moons and a distant star with planets of its own.\n\n"Moons, Rings and Other Things" will be presented on Friday and Saturday evenings.\nMay 17-18\nJune 14-15 and 21-22\nJuly 12-13 and 19-20\nAugust 16-17\n\nAdmission:\n$5 for adults\n$3 for children ages 6-12\nChildren under 6 years old admitted free\n$15 family rate: two parents and their immediate minor children or grandchildren\n\nThe observatory is located about 20 miles southwest of downtown Wichita on MacArthur Road at 247th Street West in Lake Afton County Park. It is immediately north of the lake, just off MacArthur Road.
