DESCRIPTION:A Fight Against Cultural Terrorism\nRSC Gallery, RSC First Floor\nHours Posted\nSponsored by the Student Activities Council (SAC) Arts Committee\n\nThere is a strong need for cultures to unite and speak out against cultural rape. The need to preserve culture within society is the main focus of our show. Without our culture, we would be nothing. This legacy of preservation is manifest in identity, the arts, intellectual traditions, popular culture, civil rights activism, political behavior, gender identity, and last but not least, workplace defense.\n\nOur most recent battle of cultural terrorism lies within our very own perceptions of the term "terrorism." Who are the real terrorists? Certainly one could base an argument relying heavily on mainstream media. In contrast, we could go beyond and search for our own answers through real life experiences. While searching, we may also find our own identities, separate from our commercialized counterparts. Our goal is to question and challenge this definition allowing for the freedom of self expression and an enterprise of thoughtful exchange.\n\nFor more information, visit the Rhatigan Student Center Activities Office (RSC 219) or call 978-3495.
