Journey to Jupiter
2-day event: 1/25/2013 - 1/26/2013
Location: Lake Afton Public Observatory

Join us for a journey through space! Our first stop: the moon. We will explore the craters and smooth plains of Earth's closest celestial neighbor. Our second stop: Jupiter. Here, we will explore the cloud features and many moons of the largest planet in our solar system.

Astronomy: Journey to Jupiter
2-day event: 1/25/2013 - 1/26/2013
Location: Lake Afton Observatory, 20 miles southwest of downtown Wichita at MacArthur Rd. (39th St. S.) and 247th St. W. in Lake Afton County Park. It is immediately north of the lake, just off MacArthur Rd.

The Observatory presents “Journey to Jupiter.” The journey’s first stop will be Earth’s nearest celestial neighbor, the moon. Here, the mission is to use the Observatory’s telescope to explore its craters, smooth plains and mountains. The next stop is the gas giant, Jupiter. Here, the many moons, and astounding cloud features of the largest planet in our solar system will be explored. “Journey to Jupiter” will be presented on the following evenings: January 18-19, 25-26; February 15-16, 22-23; March 15-16, 22-23 and April 19-20.

Admission:
$5 for adults
$3 for ages 6-12
Under six admitted free
Family Rate: Mom, Dad, and all their immediate children - $15
