details... Documentary Screening: Black & Gold: Remembering the WSU Plane CrashWichita State University is hosting a sneak preview screening of the documentary “Black & Gold: Remembering the WSU Plane Crash."
The documentary is produced by KPTS Channel 8, the local public broadcasting station. Jesse Huxman, director of content at KPTS, has been working on this project since April. He and his team have visited Special Collections in Ablah Library, spoken to first responders, interviewed survivors and hiked back up the mountain with his film crew, survivors and surviving family members.
The annual remembrance ceremony will be held at 9 a.m. Friday, Oct. 2, at Memorial ‘70.
THE SCREENING IS FREE, BUT A TICKET IS REQUIRED. Tickets are available through the Fine Arts Box Office in Duerksen Fine Arts Center. Box office hours are noon to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. There is a limit of six tickets per person. Requests for more than six tickets should be directed to Carmen Hytche at (316) 978-3142 or
