Art:21 Preview Party: Transformation
What better place to explore the topic of alteration, change, renovation and transformation than in a Wichita space recently revamped and now devoted to the guilty pleasure and morning treat of the 20th century—-the donut?

American Paul McCarthy produces transgressive performances. American photographer Cindy Sherman has transformed herself into other personas for decades. Englishman Yinka Shonibare MBE creates Western-styled clothing based on West African designs and fabrics.

Season Five marks the third time that the Ulrich has collaborated with local organizations to provide public preview parties. Audiences see the newest episode, in its entirety, before release on PBS. Join your friends to see the latest in art of the 21st century. Enjoy refreshments, drawings for Art:21 books and DVDs and conversation about the artists and ideas that shape contemporary life.

This event is part of Art21 Access '09, a celebration of contemporary art and Season 5 of Art:21-Art in the Twenty-First Century sponsored by Art21. Art21 Access '09 is held at more than 300 museums, schools, libraries, art spaces and community centers and is organized in collaboration with Americans for the Arts' National Arts and Humanities Month.

Location: The Donut Whole, 1720 East Douglas Avenue
