All Day Service: Free Hearing Screenings

The Audiology Clinic at WSU's Evelyn Hendren Cassat Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic will offer FREE hearing screenings. The free hearing screenings for all ages will occur during the week of Oct. 19-23, 2009. The clinic is located at the WSU Hughes Metropolitan Complex, Entrance T, at 29th Street and Oliver.

Youth Outreach: WSU String Day
The WSU School of Music is hosting its annual String Day for area high school orchestra players. The players selected will spend the day workshopping and rehearsing with the WSU Symphony Orchestra and Dr. Laycock, eating some well-deserved pizza and playing a concert with the Symphony that will be broadcast live on WSUiR at: WSUiR:http://wsuir.wichita.edu.

This is a great way to prepare high school players for the college setting and keep them inspired to perform.

Recruitment Activity: Multicultural Student Visit Day
High school juniors, seniors and transfer students are invited to discover first-hand all Wichita State University has to offer students from diverse backgrounds and to find out more about becoming a Thinker, Doer, Mover and Shocker by attending a Multicultural Visit Program (MVP).

These programs are the ideal time for students from multicultural backgrounds to break out of their normal routine and visit the WSU campus to learn more about WSU's academic and social resources. Students will get information on the admission and financial aid process, meet with representatives of the academic colleges and mingle with current students and WSU staff.

Theatre Mainstage Series Presents: Medea
3-day event: 10/22/2009 - 10/24/2009
WSU director Bret Jones brings you Euripides' "Medea", the classic Greek play based on the myth of Jason of the Argonauts and his wife Medea. The story is of Medea's revenge against her husband who is abandoning her and her children for another woman. The dramatic ending is still a subject of discussion and conflict for play-goers today. Rated PG-13.

Tickets for this event go on sale Oct. 1 and are $10 with discounts available.
