Have you been rockin' the ear buds a bit much lately, or do you turn up the volume on your favorite show to hear it better?

Visit Wichita State University's Evelyn Hendren Cassat Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic on free hearing screening days - Mondays in October (7, 14, 21 and 28). Appointments are open to the general public and available from 8:30 - 11:30 a.m. and 1 - 4:30 p.m.

Current WSU faculty/staff/students are eligible for a free full hearing evaluation throughout the year and a 10% discount on hearing aids. The clinic also offers affordable hearing evaluation services, hearing aids and more to the general public. Feel free to ask for details.

Exhibition: Nature's Toolbox: Biodiversity, Art and Invention

"Nature's Toolbox: Biodiversity, Art and Invention" is an exhibition of the works of more than 40 international artists in a wide range of media. Harnessing technology and inspired by nature's amazing design concepts, the show's innovative, eye-capturing art helps us understand and appreciate the life-or-death interdependence between the 10-20 million species on earth, including humans and the quality of the environment we share.

Development Event: The Boyer Model of Scholarship

In Scholarship Reconsidered (1990) Ernest Boyer promoted an expansion of the traditional definition of scholarly research to include: the scholarship of discovery, the scholarship of integration, the scholarship of engagement, and the scholarship of teaching and learning. In the context of WSU's new strategic plan, this session will describe and promote discussion of Boyer's model and begin a conversation about how it could be adapted for our campus.

WSU Symphonic Wind Ensemble and Chamber Winds
Location: Duerksen Fine Arts Center - Miller Concert Hall

Under the direction of Dr. Victor A. Markovich, the WSU Symphonic Wind Ensemble has been heralded as "one of the finest university bands in the nation," receiving critical acclaim for its "musically emotional and technically detailed performances." It has achieved this reputation through its national, regional and local convention and conference performances and invitations along with annually presenting concerts with conductors and soloists of international acclaim. Most recently the ensemble has performed at New York City's famous and historic Carnegie Hall.

Doors open a half hour before show time. Box Office is open one hour before show. (Please plan to arrive early to avoid lines.)
