All Day 17th Annual Elements Multi-Media Art Competition
12-day event: 11/9/2009 - 11/20/2009
Participate in the annual Elements Multimedia Arts Competition for a chance to win cash prizes. Categories include: painting, drawing, ceramics, sculpture and mixed media. Students need not be art majors. Applications can be found at www.wichita.edu/SAC or in room 219 of the RSC.

Application Deadline: Wednesday, Nov. 4 by 5:00 p.m.
$5 entry fee

Second Stage Event: The Burning Room
4-day event: 11/11/2009 - 11/14/2009
"The Burning Room" by Darrel A. Holnes, winner of the WSU New Playwright Competition, explores the myriad relationships between men and women, Latino culture and spirituality. Isabel, a Colombian immigrant, and her Mexican American boyfriend Pedro are celebrating his sister's birthday when Isabel is confronted by her "cousin" Mario and the life she thought she left behind in Medellin. Pedro and his brother-in-law Raul, both Houston cops, begin to investigate Mario. On their journey they encounter a supernatural twist they didn't bargain for. This new play will be premiered by the excellent WSU Student Director Paula Makar.

Ticket for this event are $10 with discounts available and they go on sale Oct. 21.
