WSU Concert Band with Jazz Combos
Location: Duerksen Fine Arts Center, Miller Concert Hall
The WSU Concert Band performs both standard and new band repertoire. The Concert Band has achieved regional and state recognition with performances at the College Band Directors National Association Southwestern Division Conference (1996) and the Kansas Music Educators Association Professional Conferences (1999, 2001, 2003, 2005).
WSU's Department of Jazz is fielding three combos this year. Each combo is working toward achieving a unique group sound and presenting repertoire that represents their individual personalities. You'll hear everything from the works of Duke Ellington to some of the more exciting and current writers in contemporary jazz. Come jam with us and enjoy the exciting sounds of small-group jazz at Wichita State.
