Foster unflinchingly paints her everyday experience as a mother to five children and her loving, yet complicated, familial relationships. Her paintings boldly demonstrate the complexities of being a parent and the multi-dimensionality of female identity.

Exhibition: Nature's Toolbox: Biodiversity, Art and Invention

"Nature's Toolbox: Biodiversity, Art and Invention" is an exhibition of the works of more than 40 international artists in a wide range of media. Harnessing technology and inspired by nature's amazing design concepts, the show's innovative, eye-capturing art helps us understand and appreciate the life-or-death interdependence between the 10-20 million species on earth, including humans and the quality of the environment we share.

Faculty Recital: WSU Jazz with guest Doug Walter
Location: Duerksen Fine Arts Center, Miller Concert Hall

WSU's School of Music presents a French-inspired evening of Jazz (with a hint of spice) with John Goering, piano; Geoffrey Deibel, saxophone; William Flynn, guitar; Mark Foley, bass; and Jerry Scholl, drums/percussion. The recital will also feature special guest artist Doug Walter, vibraphone.

"Triste," Carlos Antonio Jobim, arr. Goering; "Dans un tel silence," Doug Walter; "Au Privave," Charlie Parker, arr. Goering; "Picking up the Pieces," Andrew Bishop; "Ypres," Doug Walter; "Song for Maura," Paquito DíRivera, arr. Goering; and "Camelot," Frederick Loewe, arr. Goering.
