Transgender Training: Gender Minority and Transgender Employees in the Workplace
Location: Rhatigan Student Center, Room 265
Human Resources and the Office of Multicultural Affairs will provide the training session "Gender Minority and Transgender Employees in the Workplace." The goal is to clarify the understanding of issues related to gender minority/transgender employees. Workplace considerations will be discussed including demystifying the transitioning process, challenges posed in the workplace, myths, misconceptions and language.

Campus Read Lecture

In fall 2013 Student Involvement launched a collaboration with Academic Affairs to infuse a common freshman experience through the book "The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks." This book was utilized in WSU 101 and English 102 classes. This lecture explores the themes and topics discussed in the book through a panel of professionals learned in health professions, ethics and social justice. Opera and Musical Theatre presents Guys and Dolls3-day event: 11/7/2013 - 11/9/2013
Location: Wilner Auditorium
Set in Damion Runyon's mythical New York City, this classic musical has been a favorite of audiences since it opened on Broadway in 1950. With an immortal score by Frank Loesser and Abe Burrows and Jo Swerling's fast-paced book, this romantic comedy is considered the perfect musical comedy by many.
The legendary characters include: Sarah Brown, the uptight "mission doll," set out to reform Sky Masterson, the high-rolling gambler and Adelaide, the long suffering fiancÃ© of Nathan Detroit and an ensemble of other engaging characters who inhabit this world from Times Square to the cafes of Havana to the sewers of New York.
The show will be directed by Music Theatre of Wichita's Artistic Producing Director Wayne Bryan.
