Join two of WSU's premier jazz ensembles for an evening of jazz music.
The Wichita State Jazz Arts Ensemble is WSU's select big band comprised of top graduate and undergraduate majors in music and jazz studies. Led by Director of Jazz Studies Geoffrey Deibel, this concert will feature music from the library of one of the most storied big bands in America. Come hear the musicians of our own WSU Jazz Arts Ensemble roll up their sleeves and dive headlong into this incredible jazz repertoire--the pinnacle of contemporary big band playing.
For this performance, the WSU Guitar Ensemble will perform in concert along with the Jazz Arts Ensemble. The Guitar Ensemble is a group made up of seven guitarists and will present 4 popular standards arranged by the ensemble's director, William Flynn.
Open to the public.
