Noncredit Class: Introduction to the iPad
Location: Hughes Metropolitan Complex

This class provides an overview of the Apple iPad and is designed for those with little to no computer background and those who wish to use an iPad for the first time.

Topics covered include: Navigating the iPad, Customizing the iPad, setting up passwords, surfing the Internet and finding apps for the iPad. Students should feel free to bring their own iPad to gain the most from this session.

Participants who bring an iPad should know their Apple ID and password prior to start time.

Instruction is given on an iPad with retina display, but users with iPad 2 or iPad mini will be able to follow along without problems.

Fee: $42 per person.

Current Wichita State students can pick up free tickets with a valid Shocker ID card at Eck

Stadium ticket office. The ticket office is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

and an hour and a half prior to games.

Astronomy: Worlds of Science and Imagination
2-day event: 5/9/2014 - 5/10/2014
Location: Location: Lake Afton Observatory

Bring mom to the Observatory for the program "Worlds of Science and Imagination." Moms and grandmothers receive free admission when accompanied by a paying child. (Limit one free admission per paying child.)

Visitors will use the Observatory's 16-inch telescope to look at the Moon, Mars, Jupiter or Saturn and a multiple star system as Observatory staff discusses the science and the fiction surrounding them. For a full schedule of events, please visit http://www.wichita.edu/j/?2864

Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children ages 6-12. Children under 6 are admitted free. Special family rate is $15.00 for two parents and their immediate minor children or grandchildren.
