Competition: 2014 Shocker New Venture Competition Final Round
Location: Devlin Hall Room 107
Cost: Free

The Shocker New Venture Competition created by the WSU Center for Entrepreneurship inspires Kansas students to put entrepreneurial principles into practice: to spark an idea, develop a plan, pitch to investors and launch a new venture. See our top teams give their final pitches. The Final Round will be followed by an reception at 4 p.m. in the Devlin Hall lobby and the winners will be announced at 5 p.m.

The Japan Festival is a celebration of Japanese culture. It is open to the public and WSU community. A movie, “My Neighbor Totoro” by Hayao Miyazaki will be shown from 1 to 2:30 p.m. in Lindquist Hall, room 100. Culture booths will be at lobby area and activities will be in 101 LH. Mainstage Theatre presents Chemical Imbalance: A Jekyll and Hyde Play

Chemical Imbalance by Lauren Wilson is a two act contemporary "horror farce" that is a comic/evil adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson's Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. The play focuses on the bloody experiments of the "chemically imbalanced" Mr. Hyde. No one is safe from his devious mind not even the family dog. Directed by Judith Babnich. Rating PG

Astronomy: Worlds of Science and Imagination

Location: Lake Afton Observatory

Visitors will use the Observatory's 16-inch telescope to look at the Moon, Mars, Jupiter or Saturn and a multiple star system as Observatory staff discusses the science and the fiction surrounding them. For a full schedule of events, please visit http://www.wichita.edu/j/?2864

Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children ages 6-12. Children under 6 are admitted free. Special family rate is $15.00 for two parents and their immediate minor children or grandchildren.
