Free Concert: Art For Your Ears - Darden Smith
Location: McKnight Outdoor Plaza between WSU School of Art and Design, and the Ulrich Museum of Art

Expand your artistic experience with a free summer concert series featuring lively acoustic music and singer-songwriters from around the country. Each month, the Ulrich Museum of Art invites you to bring your lawn chair. We'll provide the refreshments. Relax in the scenery of the Wichita State University campus, and enjoy Art For Your Ears!

Darden Smith weaves together folk and Americana influences with rock, pop and the musical roots of his home state of Texas to create a sound that is uniquely his own. He has recorded fourteen critically acclaimed albums and is likened to songwriters such as Nick Drake, John Hiatt, Leonard Cohen and Elvis Costello.

Recognizing the plight of veterans suffering from PTSD and other injuries, Smith started SongwritingWith:Soldiers in 2012, bringing together some of America's best songwriters with active duty soldiers and veterans in a retreat setting to craft songs about personal experiences in combat.

This event is is free and open to the public. KMUW is a media sponsor for Art For Your Ears.
