Topic: Nursing Evidence in Practice

4 hours Continuing Ed credit (CEUs) offered through Via Christi

Dinner after the program.

General membership meeting commences immediately after the dinner.

PROGRAM Purpose & Objectives:

Purpose: To demonstrate the application of the Iowa model to answering clinical questions.

Objectives:

1. Describe situations in which research utilization can occur.
2. Compare levels of evidence.
3. Identify barriers to utilizing nursing research and strategies for improving utilization.
4. Describe the general steps in an individual and organizational utilization project.
5. Examine selected nursing practices for supportive evidence.
