Lambda Alpha is the international honors society for students of anthropology

The society was originally founded at Wichita State University with the purpose of encouraging scholarship and research in anthropology. Lambda Alpha has its own national scholarship program. There is also a national Lambda Alpha Journal where students can publish their research. Wichita State also has an annual Lambda Alpha symposium in April to give students the opportunity to present their research in a professional setting.

The minimum requirement for undergraduates is good departmental standing completion of at least 12 credit hours in any anthropology coursework with a 3.0 GPA and an minimum overall GPA of 2.5. The minimum requirement for graduate students of Anthropology is good departmental standing and an overall GPA of 3.25.
