CDS 750P Creative Materials for Children with Special Needs / Hands on Technology
Instructor: Julie Scherz, PhD, CCC-SLP
Location: 336 Hubbard Hall

This workshop is designed to offer participants the opportunity to work with and develop clinical/classroom applications and augmentative and alternative communication devices using no or low technology tools. Developing storyboards, song boards, theme-based communication boards, graphic organizers, visual schedules, and other tools will be covered. Participants will "make and take" a wide variety of useful intervention activities and tools, including simple switches for use with battery-operated toys. Technology tools for early and conventional literacy will be presented.
