Location: Miller Concert HallDvorak's Eighth Symphony and an array of musical theatre selections highlight the WSU Summer Orchestra concert Friday, July 19, at 7:30pm, in Miller Concert Hall. The "G Major Symphony" by Czech composer Antonin Dvorak, composed in 1889, is a tuneful, vibrant work whose melodies and amiable spirit seem derived from the Bohemian countryside itself. Faculty artists Emily Sternfeld-Dunn, soprano, and Randolph Lacy, tenor, will perform solos and duets representing three giants of American musical theatre: George Gershwin, Leonard Bernstein, and Stephen Sondheim. The program will also include Beethoven's dramatic Egmont Overture.Tickets for this event are $7 with discounts available and they go on sale June 28, 2013.
