Faculty artist David Hunsicker, trumpet, will appear as soloist with the WSU Symphony Orchestra Thursday, September 19, at 7:30pm, in Miller Concert Hall. Hunsicker, who also serves as Principal Trumpet of the Wichita Symphony, will perform selections by contemporary American composers Ernest Bloch and Vincent Persichetti. The orchestra will also present Beethoven's Sixth Symphony ("Pastoral"), a tuneful and dramatic work distinguished by its five-movement structure and vividly programmatic content. The program will open with Tempus Fugit, a vibrant, rollicking piece by Michigan composer Cindy McTee.
