Astronomy: Celestial Favorites and Bring Your Own Telescope

Location: Lake Afton Observatory

Members of the Kansas Astronomical Observers will be set up on the Observing Pad behind the observatory to help visitors learn how to use a telescope. Telescopes will be available look at if for information on different types of telescopes. Visitors will also vote on an additional celestial object that they would like to observe. Visitors will be able to look at Mars, Jupiter or Saturn, a cluster of stars and a nearby galaxy. For a full schedule of events, please visit http://www.wichita.edu/j/?2864

Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children ages 6-12. Children under 6 are admitted free. Special family rate is $15.00 for two parents and their immediate minor children or grandchildren.
