Quantum Tricycle

Audio: Wichita State physics professors lead students to new frontiers in the areas of nano particles, superconductivity, and quantum neural network research. The physics department also brings the universe home to Wichita at the Lake Afton Public Observatory.

Video: With more than 20 fraternities and sororities at Wichita State, Greeks bring life to the WSU campus—and do their share of charitable fundraising. Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity raised more than $1,000 in 2004 for Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Sedgwick County with its annual tricycle race.

Audio: Wichita State boasts Kansas’ most complete offering of fine arts programs, including painting, sculpture, music, dance, theatre, graphic design, and the state’s only musical theatre program.

Video: The National Institute for Aviation Research, located on the WSU campus, uses virtual reality, 3D prototyping, mechatronics and biomechanics laboratories, and one of the nation’s finest wind tunnels to perform research and development for the aviation industry.

Victorious Reverie

The deafening roar of more than 10,000 frenzied Shocker fans fills Charles Koch Arena each fall during basketball season. Renovated in 2002, the facility has become a jewel of the WSU campus. WSU’s Martin H. Bush Collection is one of the nation’s largest outdoor sculpture exhibits, with scores of masterpieces adorning every corner of the campus. Included in the collection is the Grafly Sculpture Garden, which provides a classical backdrop for peaceful study and quiet contemplation.
