Engineering K-12 Outreach
The College of Engineering at Wichita State encourages children's interest and aptitude in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) through a variety of fun and educational K-12 Outreach programs. Among our offerings are:
The Science and Engineering Educational Development of Students (SEEDS) program: WSU engineering students present hands-on science activities during classroom visits, school field trips to WSU, after-school programs and Saturday workshops.
More than a dozen Engineering Summer Camps for 4th-12th graders.
Two annual robotics competitions: Kansas BEST Robotics for high school students and the Shocker Mindstorms Challenge for elementary and middle school youth.
Promoting K-12 engineering education in schools through sponsorship of Project Lead The Way.
