History

The Department of History at Wichita State has developed a tradition of excellence since its founding as a part of Fairmount College in 1895, with strengths in many areas of American and European history.

The department offers both bachelor's and master's degrees in history. In addition, the department offers a Public History Program. Graduates have gone on to pursue careers in academia, business, museum work, archives, and a range of professions.
