The Mechanical Engineering Department at Wichita State University is committed to experience-based instruction and research in design and analysis for use in industries such as manufacturing, aircraft and automotive to consumer products and building equipment. In these jobs, mechanical engineers design products, machines and develop processes for manufacturing.
We offer an undergraduate program in Mechanical Engineering that is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology. The department also offers two graduate degree programs -- M.S. in ME, and Ph.D. in ME.
Our student organizations include Shocker Racing: Formula SAE and Mini Baja SAE, as well as the American Society for Mechanical Engineers (ASME).
