Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences
Medical laboratory scientists play an important role in the healthcare system, providing diagnostic services to determine appropriate treatment options for patients. The MLS program at Wichita State prepares graduates to become "generalists" with the ability to service all departments of a clinical laboratory.
Our students have full access to labs and facilities, working with their peers and gaining hands-on experience analyzing specimens. The program offers outstanding community support, experience during clinical rotation, above-national-average certification scores and flexible applicant entry points. Graduates may further their education to become specialists in Clinical Microbiology, Clinical Hematology, Clinical Chemistry or Blood Bank.
