Wichita State University has been honored in Military Advanced Education Magazine’s list of “One of America’s Top Military Friendly Colleges and Universities.”

WSU and the other universities and colleges listed have a wide range of benefits to offer service members, according to the magazine.

Here is what it had to say about Wichita State:

“Wichita State University ... is dedicated to the success of all its students and excels in supporting the educational needs of veterans and nontraditional students. The Post-9/11 GI Bill covers tuition and fees completely, for in-state as well as out-of-state undergraduate students. Offices and departments work collectively to understand and meet the needs of today’s veteran.”

WSU’s military-friendly stats include:

  • Military enrollment: 509
  • Faculty-student ratio: 1 to 15
  • On-campus military counselor: yes
  • Transfer credits accepted: yes
  • Online distance learning: no

“WSU has always been proactive in embracing and meeting the educational needs of veterans, since the genesis of the GI Bill following World War II,” said Larry Britton, executive director of WSU’s Veterans Upward Bound program. “Wichita State University is committed to ease the transition of veterans from the community and from combat to a campus and classrooms dedicated to support those who served.”
